Rick-Rack Braid <3

My hairstyle of the day is a rick-rack braid, they are very easy to do because they are very similar to a regular braid.

In this photo I have three rick-rack braids that are different sizes.

How do you make a rick-rack braid?

Sectioned your hair into three pieces,a rick-rack braid needs to have one piece that is significantly thinner.

Plait the braid at a regular tightness using the dutch technique (putting the middle piece on the outside).

When you have a completed braid you will notice that it doesn't look like a normal braid as two pieces will be a lot thicker. Secure the end of the braid with an elastic.

Time for the pancaking! Not the pancakes you eat, 'pancaking' is pulling the hair looser. Pancake the thicker pieces so that they become flatter like a pancake. I feel like I have said the word pancake a lot...

When your hair resembles mine in the photo above you can do what I did and secure the braid at the back of the head with a bobby pin. You could even put it up in a pony tail, or let the braid hang down, it is your choice!
